Australians dance, cheer in 'world class' Eurovision debut
24-05-2015 05:03

Excited Australians partied and sang, with some dressed up in glittering costumes as they cheered on their wildcard entry to Eurovision on Sunday despite the song contest airing in the early hours of the morning. The country's love for the kitsch competition took on a patriotic bent this year as its entrant Guy Sebastian wowed audiences in Australia, with many delighted with his final fifth place ranking. "Everyone was so happy that Guy was in the top five," said Kate Hansen, who organised an overnight Eurovision party in the western city of Perth for almost 50 people, with many donning costumes and drinking wine from sparkling glasses.

Sweden pips Russia in Eurovision pop fest nail-biter
24-05-2015 03:53

Sweden narrowly beat Russia on Sunday in a nail-biting 60th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, winning its sixth crown in Europe's annual anything-goes music extravaganza. As the scores came through nation by nation via videolink to Vienna, it looked for a while as though Russian Polina Gagarina would take the title with her paean to world peace "A Million Voices".

Mini encyclopedia of the countries
Mini encyclopedia of the countries - Italy Italy
Italy (Italian: Italia), officially the Italian Republic (Italian: Repubblica Italiana), is a country located on the Italian Peninsula in Southern Europe and on the two largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily and Sardinia.
